Folding – folding paper (e.g. invitations folded in half, or folding publications into multi-page sections).
Creasing – producing u-shaped grooves on book covers or punched carton, which makes folding paper easier.
Foil laminating – laminating paper (e.g. on the outer surface of a book cover).
Stamping – punching various shapes in a sheet of paper (e.g. cutting out shapes for letters in an index or a phonebook).
Paper laminating (applying a layer of thin printed paper on corrugated paper for product packaging).
Block assembly – assembling separate sections into ready publications with covers, by sewing/stitching or gluing. Cutting ready publications (bleed/border cutting).
Inserting – placing leaflets (commercial inserts) and other elements (CD-ROMs, product samples) inside publications.
Binding - (attaching covers) – putting book jackets on book covers – packing individual copies (foiling).
